This is James with Radius Plus. In the spirit of redefining space, let's explore a vertical as it relates to self-storage. It's time to build down, not just up. I'm talking underground self-storage. Civilizations have utilized underground storage to avoid danger and disaster for thousands of years and we're already seeing this happen today. As companies have been converting abandoned mines into thriving storage centers. Underground storage facilities like Storchopolis in Kansas City, Springfield Underground, and Iron Mountain all come to mind. But why did they do this in the first place? So first up, it's out of sight and out of mind. There's no harm done to a neighborhood's view when you build down instead of up. Furthermore, underground storage can save costs on overheads like climate control because the naturally stable underground temperatures keep it climate controlled all year round. And it provides a lot of protection from disasters like hurricanes or tornadoes and other elements. So guys, don't think up, think down. The last technical advancement in self-storage that really hit the market was climate controlled self-storage and it's been a while since that has happened. So I want to hear from the experts on what the next evolutional stage of self-storage is and if you think you can get down with the underground storage. So let me know what you think in the comments below and thanks for watching the video. Thanks.
