Shawn advises clients on debt and equity financing and loan workout services for all commercial property types, with an emphasis on the self storage asset class. In addition, he is a frequent speaker and panelist at self storage industry trade shows and a contributing writer for national storage industry publications. Shawn’s professional experience includes credit roles at Duff and Phelps and Fitch Ratings. He also worked for Wells Fargo Bank as a commercial mortgage underwriter and credit analyst, and immediately prior to helping found The BSC Group was a Senior Vice President with Beacon Realty Capital. He earned a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Urban & Regional Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a core emphasis on economic development and real estate finance.
